{"id":205,"date":"2017-09-26T22:22:45","date_gmt":"2017-09-27T02:22:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/busytot.com\/?p=205"},"modified":"2024-06-06T23:25:25","modified_gmt":"2024-06-07T03:25:25","slug":"flappy-awesome-animated-elephant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.craigperler.com\/blog\/2017\/09\/26\/flappy-awesome-animated-elephant\/","title":{"rendered":"Flappy the Awesome Animated Elephant"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure style=\"width:300px;\" class=\"wp-block-post-featured-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"466\" height=\"560\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.craigperler.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/flappy.jpg?resize=466%2C560&#038;ssl=1\" class=\"attachment-post-thumbnail size-post-thumbnail wp-post-image\" alt=\"Flappy, the Awesome Elephant\" style=\"object-fit:contain;\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.craigperler.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/flappy.jpg?w=466&amp;ssl=1 466w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.craigperler.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/flappy.jpg?resize=120%2C144&amp;ssl=1 120w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.craigperler.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/flappy.jpg?resize=90%2C108&amp;ssl=1 90w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.craigperler.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/flappy.jpg?resize=320%2C385&amp;ssl=1 320w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 466px) 100vw, 466px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n<p>Our youngest daughter&#8217;s great-grandma recently bought her <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2xSI2WL\">GUND&#8217;s Animated Elephant<\/a>. &nbsp;Flappy! &nbsp;&#8216;Awesome&#8230; another f&#8217;n stuffed animal.&#8217; &nbsp;But then we pressed the Sing button, and holy crap but is this thing adorable. &nbsp;I&#8217;ll let Flappy speak for itself here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/u1nJSYZFmJY?controls=0&amp;rel=0\" width=\"640\" height=\"385\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over and over we played, &#8220;Do your ears hang low&#8230;&#8221; until it was burned in our heads. &nbsp;It&#8217;s a cute voice, and perfectly in sync with the motion. &nbsp;Even better, our 1-year-old absolutely loves Flappy. &nbsp;It&#8217;s very huggable, and though it might not have as much variety as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.craigperler.com\/blog\/2017\/09\/22\/wowwee-fingerlings-wearable-smart-toy\/\">farting finger puppets<\/a>, it&#8217;s still very entertaining.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A quick funny aside: when I was a kid, I had a GUND monkey, Mr. Monkey. &nbsp;When I was starting to read, I found the tag on Mr. Monkey and spelled out the brand, &#8220;GUND.&#8221; &nbsp;Putting two and two together, I realized that some company had found Mr. Monkey out in the while, shot and killed him, stuffed him with cotton, and tagged him as &#8216;gunned.&#8217; &nbsp;I was pretty upset at the time. &nbsp;I&#8217;m sure my parents had a good laugh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyway, Flappy&#8217;s lyrics themselves are a bit advanced for a kid. &nbsp;&#8220;Can your throw [your ears] o&#8217;er your shoulder \/ Like a continental soldier?&#8221; &nbsp;I mean, maybe by middle school that might make sense?
